Satyanarayana Pooja Prasad is a traditional Indian sweet dish prepared specifically for the Satyanarayana Pooja. It’s a simple yet delicious recipe that involves roasted semolina (rava) cooked in ghee with milk, sugar, and cardamom.
Ingredients:
1 cup semolina (rava)
1/2 cup ghee
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/4 cup chopped almonds and cashews
1/4 cup raisins
Instructions:
Roast the Semolina:
Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.
Add the semolina and roast until it turns golden brown and fragrant.
Stir continuously to prevent burning.
Add Milk and Sugar:
Pour the milk into the pan and stir well.
Allow the milk to simmer until it is absorbed by the semolina.
Add sugar and cardamom powder, and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Add Nuts and Raisins:
Stir in the chopped almonds, cashews, and raisins.
Cook for a few more minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
Serve:
Once the prasad has cooled slightly, transfer it to a serving dish.
It can be served warm or cold.
Tips:
For a richer flavor, you can use full-fat milk.
If you prefer a sweeter prasad, you can increase the amount of sugar.
For a more festive appearance, you can garnish the prasad with chopped nuts or a sprinkle of saffron.
